Introduction

What are Slitting & CTL lines?

Slitting lines and cut-to-length lines are coil processing systems that prepare raw master coils into the exact dimensions required for downstream production. A slitting line cuts a wide master coil longitudinally into multiple narrower strip coils; a CTL line uncoils, levels, and cuts steel into flat sheets of specified length. Both are critical auxiliary processes for tube mills, roll-forming lines, stamping, and presswork operations.

Precision rotary slitting

High-precision slitter heads with quick tooling change system cut master coils into multiple slit strips with clean, burr-free edges. Built for extreme accuracy and rapid changeovers.

Cut-to-length accuracy

Servo feeding and high-power continuous shearing deliver precise sheet lengths at high cycle rates, suitable for automotive, appliance, and structural blanks.

Full PLC automation

Hydraulic and PLC control systems govern all line functions — from uncoiling and tension control through to recoiling or stacking — minimising manual intervention.

Light to heavy gauge

The range spans 0.4 mm thin coil (0.4×600mm line) up to 20 mm heavy-gauge wide strip (20×2200mm line), covering the full spectrum of coil processing needs.

What Slitting & CTL lines produce

Slitting and CTL lines serve as essential upstream coil processing equipment across tube manufacturing, roll-forming, stamping, and steel service centre operations.

Strip coils for tube mills

Slit master coils to the exact widths required as input for ERW tube mills and direct forming lines.

Strip for cold-formed sections

Prepare pre-slit strip for profile forming lines, roll-forming machines, and cold-drawn section production.

Sheet blanks for presswork

Cut-to-length lines produce flat sheet blanks to specified dimensions for stamping, deep drawing, and press operations.

Automotive sheet

High-speed CTL lines supply precision-cut sheet for body panels, structural reinforcements, and automotive stampings.

Structural & plate blanks

Heavy-duty CTL lines produce thick flat plates for structural fabrication, construction steel, and industrial applications.

Note: The key differentiator is the high-power continuous shearing machine, which runs throughout the cut cycle — eliminating the stop-start motion of conventional shears. Combined with servo feeding, this delivers fast response, high throughput, and consistent sheet length precision.
